Job summary

ChenMed LLC is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist with the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations. The incumbent uses pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.

Responsibilities include inventory management, assisting and coaching technicians, supporting patient service, and ensuring compliance with policies. Qualifications include Pharmacy technician registration, one year of experience, and fluent English.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; education can be substituted with experience.
  • Board of Pharmacy technician registration and licensure required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a pharmacy setting, including data entry.

Responsibilities

  • Review and comply with the Pharmacy Technician Code of Conduct.
  • Greet healthcare providers and patients, answer questions, and refer inquiries to the Pharmacist.
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory: check stock, place orders, verify receipt, and remove outdated drugs.
  • Maintain knowledge of asset protection, create claims for order errors and damaged goods.
  • Ensure a safe and clean pharmacy environment by complying with procedures and regulations.
  • Use pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information with accuracy.
  • Fill prescriptions: retrieve drugs, count, pour, verify medicine, and check interactions.
  • Report prescription errors to the Pharmacist and follow company policies.
  • Follow government regulations including HIPAA, Medicare, and co-pay requirements.
  • Engage patients, resolve issues, and ensure a positive experience.
  • Register sales and handle cash as required.
  • Direct and assist team members to maintain workflow and meet deadlines.
  • Process third-party reimbursement claims accurately.
  • Earn and maintain required certification and licensure; attend training and complete education credits.

Job description

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and clean pharmacy environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Use pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring accuracy.
  • Fill prescriptions: retrieve drugs, count, pour, verify medicine correctness, and check for interactions.
  • Report prescription errors immediately to the Pharmacist and follow company policies.
  • Follow applicable government regulations including HIPAA, Medicare, and co‑pay requirements.
  • Engage patients, resolve issues, and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Register sales on cash register, handle cash as required.
  • Direct and assist team members to maintain workflow and meet deadlines.
  • Process third‑party reimbursement claims accurately.
  • Earning and maintaining required certification and licensure, attend training, and complete education credits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of ChenMed products, services, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with well‑developed verbal and written communication.
  • Good math and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, meet deadlines, and remain flexible.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Spoken and written fluency in English.
  • Eligible to travel nationwide for training and support.
  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.
Education & Experience

High School or equivalent; education can be substituted with experience on a year‑for‑year basis above the minimum required. Board of Pharmacy technician registration and current licensure and certification for state required. Minimum one (1) year of experience in a pharmacy setting, including pharmacy/medical data entry experience.

Pay Range

$17.00 – $24.26 per hour. Compensation depends on experience, education, location, and other factors. Eligibility for bonuses or commissions.
