Job summary

Providence St. Luke's Rehabilitation Medical Center in Spokane is seeking an Acute Care Pharmacy Technician II to support unit-dose and stock medication distribution to nursing units and ancillary departments.

You will fill and dispense oral and IV medications, triage orders, and maintain the ADS to ensure safe, timely patient care. This role collaborates with pharmacists to optimize med safety, inventory, and workflow in a dynamic hospital setting, contributing to Providence's patient-focused

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED.
  • Washington Pharmacy Technician License upon hire.
  • 1 year (>2080 hours) pharmacy practice in an integrated health system with PTCB certification, OR 2 years (>4160 hours) hospital pharmacy if not PTCB certified.

Responsibilities

  • Fill and dispense unit-dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to nursing units and other departments.
  • Fill/dispense oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders.
  • Maintain the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS).

Job description

The Acute Care Pharmacy Technician II performs duties relating to the filling and dispensing of unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to the nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt accurate manner. Fill/dispense oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders and maintaining the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS).

Required Qualifications:
  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Washington Pharmacy Technician License upon hire
  • Minimum one year (> 2080 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system and current PTCB certification -OR- 2 years (>4160 hours) of hospital pharmacy if not PTCB certified
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduation from a Pharmacy Technician program approved by the WA State Board of Pharmacy
  • Experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR)
