PHARMACY/TECHNICIAN at Kroger

Job Description

Provide exceptional customer service to help people live healthier lives by treating customers/employees in a fair and ethical manner, providing a safe, clean, inclusive environment, being a responsible member of the community, providing the right products and services at the right time with fair and accurate pricing. Provide direct patient intervention by delivering health and wellness services and experiences consistent with state and federal laws. Demonstrate Kroger’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Comply with local, state, and federal regulations; report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud.
  • Comply with and reinforce all food safety, sanitation and safety regulations/guidelines/programs and identify unsafe conditions to notify store management.
  • Understand and perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers.
  • Understand and follow the company guidelines on computerized inventory management, control, and ordering of medications, devices, supplements and supplies.
  • Maintain departmental standards, keeping work stations and customer waiting areas clean and organized.
  • Count, measure and prepare specified products using company best practices.
  • Complete billing procedures to provide value to customers and the company.
  • Answer phone calls, triage inquiries, and provide appropriate assistance.
  • Adhere to guidelines on accepting vendor coupons, cash shortage limits, and shrink guidelines.
  • Operate the cash register and follow cashier handling policies to prevent loss, including electronic fund transactions and cash/check transactions.
  • Provide a stellar customer experience while accurately and efficiently completing reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.
  • Assist pharmacist in all responsibilities except those requiring professional judgement.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and company policies.
  • Support company health and wellness initiatives.
  • Put away legend orders, including Central Fill deliveries.
  • Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
  • Provide support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be 18 years old.

Desired

  • Previous comparable experience.
  • Equivalent experience as a pharmacy clerk.
  • Familiarity with EPRN.
