Job Description

Provide direct patient intervention by offering health and wellness services in compliance with state and federal laws. Demonstrate Kroger’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Comply with local, state, and federal regulations­ report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
  • Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
  • Perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers.
  • Follow company guidelines on computerized inventory management, control, and ordering of all medications, devices, supplements, and supplies.
  • Maintain departmental standards, keeping workstations and customer waiting areas clean and organized.
  • Count, measure, and prepare specified products using company best practices.
  • Complete billing procedures to assure best value for the customer and the company.
  • Answer phone calls, triage inquiries, and respond as appropriate.
  • Adhere to vendor coupon policies, cash shortage limits, and company shrink guidelines.
  • Operate the cash register in accordance with all cashier handling policies and prevent loss.
  • Provide a stellar customer experience while accurately completing reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing steps.
  • Assist pharmacist in all responsibilities that do not require a pharmacist’s professional judgment.
  • Understand and adhere to HIPAA regulations and Kroger’s policies regarding confidential information.
  • Support company health and wellness initiatives.
  • Put away legend orders, including Central Fill deliveries.
  • Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
Minimum
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information.
  • Meet minimum state requirements to perform the functions related to the position.
Desired
  • Any previous comparable experience.
  • Any equivalent experience of a pharmacy clerk.
  • Experience with Enterprise Pharmacy Records Network (EPRN).
