Job summary

Meijer in Ohio is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy team in providing patient-focused service across service points.

You will input prescriptions, create labels, adjudicate claims, manage inventory, and maintain a clean, confidential work environment.

We value strong organizational skills, reliable attendance, and a team-oriented mindset, with training offered to licensure as required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Registered and/or licensed as required by the state.
• Retail/Community Pharmacy experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficient typing skills.
• Neat and legible handwriting.
• Strong organizational and prioritization abilities.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients at service points and promote pharmacy initiatives.
• Input customer and prescription data into the dispensing system.
• Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
• Retrieve medications from inventory and stock shelves.
• Order prescription medications for the Pharmacy Department.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Maintain a clean, orderly pharmacy environment.

What You'll be Doing:

• Level 2 Interacting with patients at various service points of contact.
• Promoting pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to the customer.
• Inputting customer and prescription information in the pharmacy dispensing system.
• Creating prescription labels and adjudicating insurance claims.
• Retrieving the appropriate medication from inventory.
• Completing paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
• Ordering prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
• Stocking prescription medication.
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
• Effective communication skills and agent of change.
• Maintaining a clean, and orderly pharmacy for a professional appearance.
• Maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
• Licensed in their respective state if required.
• Successful completion of Meijer Employer based training if licensure is not required in their respective state.
