Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to interact with patients, process prescriptions, and promote clinical services. You will input data, create labels, adjudicate insurance claims, and manage medication inventory in a fast-paced retail setting.

Join a team focused on accurate dispensing, confidentiality, and excellent customer service. Prior retail or pharmacy experience and state licensure as required are valued.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Registered/licensed as required in the state of practice.
• Retail/Community practice experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.

• Strong organizational and prioritization abilities.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients at various service points of contact.
• Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
• Input customer and prescription information in the dispensing system.
• Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
• Retrieve medications from inventory and stock shelves.
• Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving orders.
• Order prescription medications for the Pharmacy Department.
• Maintain a clean, orderly pharmacy and ensure confidentiality of patient information.

What You'll be Doing:

• Level 2 Interacting with patients at various service points of contact.
• Promoting pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to the customer.
• Inputting customer and prescription information in the pharmacy dispensing system.
• Creating prescription labels and adjudicating insurance claims.
• Retrieving the appropriate medication from inventory.
• Completing paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
• Ordering prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
• Stocking prescription medication.
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
• Effective communication skills and agent of change.
• Maintaining a clean, and orderly pharmacy for a professional appearance.
• Maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
• Licensed in their respective state if required.
• Successful completion of Meijer Employer based training if licensure is not required in their respective state.
