Job summary

TEEMA Solutions Group in San Luis Obispo, CA seeks a hospital pharmacy technician for night shift (7 on/7 off, 20:00–06:30).

You will assist pharmacists with sterile compounding, unit-dose packaging, IV preparation, and processing orders in Cerner EMR. Evening coverage includes weekends as needed.

Join a facility with a Level III NICU and trauma center; strong teamwork and compliance with regulations are essential.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required; associate/technical degree preferred.
• Experience with sterile compounding and hospital pharmacy workflow preferred.
• Experience with unit-dose packaging and nursing unit delivery.

Responsibilities

• Package, handle, and deliver unit-dose cassettes to nursing units.
• Pull medications from stock and verify against pharmacist orders.
• Maintain floor stock and rotate inventory.
• Prepare IV medications per applicable laws and regulations.
• Check in orders from wholesalers and suppliers.
• Assist with general duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

Performs packaging, manipulative, repetitive, or other nondiscretionary tasks related to the furnishing of drugs, while assisting and under the direct supervision and control of a pharmacist.

Fills and delivers the unit dose cassettes from the patients profile to nursing units.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred

Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Essential Functions:

Pulls medications from stock and matches medications with the corresponding label generated by the pharmacist involved with entry of medication orders into the patient's computer generated profile in an accurate manner.

Maintains floor stock (restocking, removal of expired medications, rotate stock) of nursing areas and other medication areas.

Prices and stocks in-coming deliveries.

Prepares IV medication products within the guidelines of applicable laws and regulations.

Checks in orders from wholesaler and suppliers.

Distributes appropriately the stock and file paperwork; processes returns and back orders in a timely manner.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
