Job summary

NeighborHealth is seeking a Pharmacy Support professional to assist the onsite 340B pharmacy under supervision. You will help with dispensing, billing accuracy, and inventory management to ensure compliant operations.

With 2+ years of pharmacy experience and an active NC Pharmacy Registration, you will contribute to 340B program tracking, recalls handling, and excellent patient service during typical Monday–Friday hours.

Qualifications

• Active NC Board of Pharmacy Registration in good standing is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience.
• Interpreting medical abbreviations for prescriptions.
• Familiarity with pharmacy regulations and compliance requirements.
• PTCB or ExCPT certification preferred; immunization training beneficial.

Job description

• Support the pharmacy team in the daily operation of NeighborHealth's onsite 340B pharmacy
• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Track, support compliance, and audit 340B program products
• Organize pharmacy records and audits
• Manage 340B drug inventory, including ordering, receiving, and proper storage
• Maintain precise records for CIII-V controlled substances through daily cycle counts
• Handle drug recalls and returns of expired, damaged, or recalled medications
• Enter and prepare outpatient prescriptions accurately and ensure correct billing
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and labeling medications
• Perform quality assurance checks and immediately report prescription errors to the pharmacist
• Handle patient and provider calls that do not require the pharmacist's direct attention
• Process and resubmit manual claims for third-party prescription services
• Operate the register, including returns, voids, refunds, and providing change
• Complete cash drawer audits and reconciliations and report discrepancies to the Pharmacy Manager
• Handle department pricing and price changes for OTC products
• Keep the pharmacy stocked, clean, and orderly and request repairs as needed
• Greet customers and patients and assist with products and services
• Support an outstanding patient experience through accurate dispensing and responsive service
• Resolve patient questions and elevate issues to the Pharmacy Manager or provider team
• Complete required NeighborHealth Pharmacy training and continuing education
• Stay current on pharmacy practices and developments

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Active NC Board of Pharmacy Registration, in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience
• Ability to interpret medical abbreviations for written and electronic prescriptions
• Computer literacy in internet use and Windows environment, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with co-workers and community members
• Ability to serve as an advocate for individuals of all ethnicities, genders, ages, and backgrounds
• Ability to work Monday to Friday during pharmacy hours, typically 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English fluently as needed to perform essential job functions
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds safely and carry items across the pharmacy
• Manual dexterity to measure, label, and dispense medications
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and crouch
• Ability to read labels, enter data, and communicate clearly
• Ability to maintain focus during repetitive tasks
• Up-to-date immunizations as required for the role
• PTCB or ExCPT certification preferred
• Immunization training and certification, with 1+ years of experience preferred
