Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Location: Pueblo, CO 81004
Salary: $19.10 - $22.47 per hour
Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician is responsible for delivering medication and pharmaceutical care in communities that are most in need. This includes developing close relationships with patients in communities we serve and assisting the pharmacists in accurately preparing and delivering prescription medication.

Education / Experience / License / Certification
- High school degree or equivalent
- Active Pharmacy Technician License from the State of Colorado in good standing, or Pharmacy Technician Provisional license from the state of Colorado
- PTCB Certification preferred or willingness to become PTCB certified within 18 months as dictated by the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy
- Two years pharmacy technician related experience preferred
- Retail pharmacy experience preferred
- 340B experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance as required by law
Travel
Frequent travel is required including day-to-day local travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the function and activities of the department embrace the philosophy, mission, values, and Communicate with Heart service model supported by the Board of Directors of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc.
- Adhere to the guidelines and procedures of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc.
- Maintain professional working relationships at all times, with pharmacy personnel, physicians, nurses, and other medical personnel
- Understand that the requirements of working in a pharmacy are varied and may change as demands on the department change
- Respond promptly to internal and external customer needs, maintain confidentiality
- Maintain a friendly and helpful attitude at all times when dealing with customers
- Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Assist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policy under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Organize medications for pharmacist to dispense by profiling prescriptions, preparing labels, and calculating quantities
- Ensure medication availability by registering all related sales on cash register, collecting and handling cash as required, and ordering medications when needed; perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Director, staff pharmacist utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs; report prescription errors to pharmacist on duty
- Ensure pharmacy safety by answering telephones and acknowledging patients present at the pharmacy and attending to them, thus freeing the pharmacist to focus on prescription verification and other duties
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Work with pharmacy team to ensure best practices are being followed with regard to 340B program
- Maintain active licensure and all requirements of such
- Promptly complete all necessary trainings and certifications

- Employee spends a majority of worktime standing both stationary and moving around
- Employee frequently moves or positions objects weighing 25 pounds up to 100 pounds while performing routine office duties such as opening file drawers, moving files, etc.
