Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Pine Brook, NJ is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to dispense medications under the supervision of a pharmacist. You will process prescriptions, maintain patient records, and assist with insurance processing and inventory.

The role is full-time (40 hours/week) with an 8-hour shift pattern (6am to 2:30pm) and occasional overtime. Located at 19 Chapin Road, Pine Brook, NJ, this position requires NJ license and good patient service skills.

As aPharmacy Technician, you'll be responsible for retrieving medication from stock, counting and packaging orders for pharmacist review, maintaining workstations with adequate supplies, removing outdated products from shelves, assisting with inventory replenishment, and maintaining par levels of pre-packaged auxiliary items. Occasionally you may be asked to reach out to patients for customer service calls as well as making inquiries on orders shipped.

Schedule: This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Candidates are required to have flexibility to work our 8 hour shift schedule during our normal business hours of (6am to 2:30pm ). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Preparing and dispensing prescription medications under the supervision of a pharmacist
  • Receiving and processing prescription orders from patients, physicians, and healthcare providers
  • Entering prescription information into pharmacy systems and maintaining accurate patient records
  • Verifying insurance coverage, processing claims, and resolving billing issues
  • Managing inventory, ordering medications, and monitoring stock levels
  • Restocking medications and supplies while ensuring proper storage and handling
  • Assisting with medication packaging, labeling, and shipment preparation
  • Maintaining compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Performing quality assurance checks to ensure prescription accuracy
  • Answering patient and provider inquiries and directing clinical questions to the pharmacist
  • Supporting workflow management to meet productivity and service-level expectations
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA requirements
  • Collaborating with pharmacists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely medication delivery

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification
  • Pharmacy/prescription data entry experience
  • Experience navigating through Microsoft Office Suite

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
