Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our day shift team. You will support the pharmacy's daily operations under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, perform routine tasks, and help ensure accurate medication handling and patient safety.

Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred unless required by the State.

Responsibilities

  • Complete a variety of pharmacy tasks and services.
  • Work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist and may work independently.
  • Pick up drug orders at nursing stations and prepare medications under supervision.
  • Deliver the appropriate quantities of medication to patient areas.
  • Assist with accurate billing and crediting of patient medications.
  • Maintain drugs in the pharmacy per the formulary, including ordering, receiving, storing and paperwork.
  • Monitor doses administered according to MAR and narcotics logs.
  • Maintain forms and reports for control of narcotics and other controlled substances.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Schedule: full-time day shift 8 hoursCompensation: $21.00- 29.00 per hour depending on years of experience

Responsibilities
  • You will complete a variety of pharmacy tasks and services, including being responsible for the daily operations of the pharmacy within the established policies and guidelines.
  • You will work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, and you are able to work independently. You will not provide direct care to patients.
  • Picking up drug orders at the nursing station(s) and preparing medications under the supervision of the pharmacist on shift.
  • Delivering the appropriate quantities of the medication to the correct patient area(s).
  • Assisting with accurate billing and crediting of patient medications.
  • Maintaining drugs in the pharmacy in accordance with the Drug Formulary, to include ordering, receiving, storing and filling out all necessary paperwork.
  • Monitoring doses administered according to the Medication Administration Record on the narcotics sign‑out record.
  • Maintaining all forms and reports necessary for the control of narcotics and other controlled substances.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred unless required by the State.
