Job summary

OmniScript Compounding Pharmacy in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Full-Time Compounding Technician to prepare non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations under a pharmacist's supervision. You will follow SOPs and assist with labeling, packaging, and inventory management in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and pharmacy registration. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and to communicate effectively by phone and email is essential.

Responsibilities

• Compounding non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations under supervision of the pharmacist.
• Follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Non-sterile compounding may include capsules, liquids, topical meds, nasal preparations, suppositories, troches, or tablet triturates.
• Maintain standards for accuracy and potency.
• Prepare and label prescriptions, pre-package bulk compounded medications.
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder low stock, expiring chemicals, and maintain MSDS and Certificates of Analysis.
• Review MSDS as needed and perform cleaning daily, weekly and monthly with appropriate disinfectants.
• Work under pharmacist supervision and stay compliant with state board requirements.
• Must be registered with the State Board of Pharmacy.

Salary Range: $22.00 To $25.00 Hourly

Job Summary:

Responsible for compounding non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations under the supervision of the compounding pharmacist.

Job Activities and Responsibilities :The responsibilities listed below are subject to change.

• Compounding technicians shall have knowledge of and follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures.
• Specifically noting the use of hormones and other potentially hazardous chemicals are used in non-sterile compounding.
• Non-sterile compounding may include but is not limited to the compounding of capsules, liquids, topical medications, nasal preparations, suppositories, troches, or tablet triturates.
• Standards for accuracy and potency shall be consistently met.
• Compounding technician shall compound medication, fill and label prescriptions and pre-package bulk compounded medications in anticipation of prescription orders.
• Compounding technicians shall also monitor inventory levels for re-order of low inventory or expiring or expired chemicals or compounds, receive new inventory, maintain MSDS and Certificates of Analysis and perform daily, weekly and monthly cleaning using appropriate disinfectants and techniques.
• When working with hazardous or non-hazardous chemicals, the Compounding technician shall be familiar with the location of MSDS and review, as needed.
• Environmental monitoring and validation testing shall be performed according to policies and procedures.
• Technicians shall work under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Must be registered with the State Board of Pharmacy.

Physical requirements:

• Proficient in using a computer and related equipment, including printers and fax machines.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Effective communication skills via telephone and email.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds as needed.
• 20/20 vision (with or without corrective aids) required for visual inspection of drug products, in accordance with legal requirements
