Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to provide distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the Pharmacist prior to certification. Responsibilities include refilling, preparing orders, and maintaining inventory, with duties spanning sterile and non-sterile compounding, receiving supplies, and triaging calls to support patients and health professionals.

Licensure via the Alabama Board of Pharmacy is required, with active registration needed before hire.

Qualifications

• Currently registered as a pharmacy technician by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required.
• Active registration will be required prior to date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.
• Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the Pharmacy department.
• Prepares sterile and non-sterile compounds.
• Receives and stores incoming supplies.
• Triages incoming calls and serves as a liaison between pharmacy, patient and health professionals by providing information.

• Schedule: Mon - Fri 7AM-7PM and alternating weekends (usually every 3rd weekend) 7AM - 2 PM.
