Job summary

NEW RIVER HEALTH ASSOCIATION, INC is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support patient care in a busy clinical setting. You will handle patient check-in, review medications, and maintain electronic records, while performing basic clinical procedures and coordinating lab orders.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program of medical assisting.
  • Knowledge of medical principles and skills needed to assess the need for, provide, and evaluate patient care and treatment.
  • Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, treatment room procedures, medications and their side effects, and patient education principles to assist in the development of an individual self-care program.
  • Proficiency with computer operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patient check-in and registration.
