Job summary

Paycom seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmaceutical care, processing prescriptions, and maintaining inventory in Omaha, NE. You will assist with EHR transfers, billing, and daily pharmacy tasks under pharmacist supervision at standard weekday hours.

Qualifications

• Education: High School education or equivalent required.
• Licensure: Registered within first 30 days of being hired; eligible for certification within first twelve months of being hired.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred with a valid license held in good standing.
• Experience: Previous experience as a pharmacy technician preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Office, PowerPoint; QS1 and NextGen preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong math and problem-solving abilities.
• Typical hours: 9a–6p, Monday–Friday; no weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Accurately transfer patient information between EHR and the pharmacy management system.
• Input patient and prescription information into the system for timely processing, filling, and dispensing.
• Answer phone calls and transfer to the appropriate department when needed.
• Process cash and credit card transactions at the register.
• Assist in managing inventory minimum levels for drugs and supplies.
• Rotate and stock incoming inventory and supplies.
• Check for outdates, recalls, and abandoned prescriptions and remove from inventory.
• Perform duties with orientation, training, and demonstrated competency.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with policies and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy-related Federal, State, and corporate regulations and guidelines.
• Collaborate with the pharmacist to process, fill, and coordinate delivery of medications.

Job Details: Job Location: Grant - Omaha, NE 68111, POSITION SUMMARY Assist the pharmacist in providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care by accurately and efficiently processing, recordkeeping, and dispensing of patient prescriptions issued by CDHC providers. In addition to performing traditional pharmacy technician duties, maintain automation equipment, assist with managing and auditing inventory, pharmacy processes and programs. Participate in the development of policies and programs that aim to promote good health, educate our patients about the importance of being compliant with medication therapy, and work toward improving clinical outcomes.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accurately transfer patient information between electronic health record (EHR) and the pharmacy management system.
• Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy management system for timely processing, filling, and dispensing patient medication.
• Appropriately answer phone calls and questions; if necessary, transfer phone calls to desired or recommended department.
• Conduct cash and credit card transactions at the register when dispensing patient medication.
• Assist in managing inventory minimum levels for drugs and supplies.
• Properly rotate and stock incoming inventory and supplies.
• Routinely check for outdates, recalls, and abandoned prescriptions and remove from inventory.
• Perform the job duties for which they have received orientation, training, and demonstrated competency.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
• Assure compliance with pharmacy related Federal, State, and corporate regulations and guidelines.
• Work closely with the pharmacist to help accurately process, fill, and coordinate delivery of prescription medication, maintain inventory, and manage daily pharmacy related tasks.

Qualifications: POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Travel: Minimal in-town traveling.
• Possess general knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Office, PowerPoint. Knowledge of QS1 and NextGen preferred.
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary to engage patients, providers, and other staff.
• Ability to work well individually and within a team environment.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and perform mathematical calculations.
• Ability to prioritize and appropriately manage time to accomplish tasks.
