Job summary

HAC, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in preparing and labeling medications in our OKC store. You will handle prescription data entry, claims transmission, and patient service while maintaining inventory and complying with regulations.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED and an Oklahoma Pharmacy Technician license (preferred). If not licensed, you must obtain it within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED required/preferred for license
• Current OK Pharmacy Tech License (Preferred)
• Obtain OK Pharmacy Tech License within 30 days of hire (Required)
• Phase I Training must be completed within 30 days of hire
• Phase II Training must be completed within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists with preparation, labeling, and delivery of medications
• Enter prescription information into Rx system and transmit claims
• Handle cash register and check out customers
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information per HIPPA standards
• Maintain inventory and restock medications as needed
• Ensure compliance with state/federal pharmacy laws and policies

Purpose Statement:

The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacists with the preparation, labeling, and delivery of medications in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy and adheres to the policies and procedures of Hac, Inc.

Significant Job Responsibilities:

• Performs all job duties with a friendly, positive, and team-oriented approach.
• Answers telephone timely and accurately.
• Checks out customers at the cash register.
• Provides customer service that exceeds the customer's expectations.
• Inputs prescription information into the pharmacy Rx program, transmits online adjudicated pharmacy claims, and generates prescription bottle labels.
• Obtains drug products, counts, and distributes them in the appropriate containers, labels those containers and presents them to a registered pharmacist for review and approval.
• Reverses insurance claims and returns stock to inventory for prescriptions not picked up by customers.
• Generates and transmits the inventory order and checks in the received order daily.
• Responsible for inventory management to include correcting perpetual inventory amounts when necessary and pulling out-of-date and excess inventory off medication shelves.
• Actively participates in company initiatives to increase pharmacy profitability.
• Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the State Board of Pharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Food and Drug Administration.
• Maintains required license in good standing with the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy.
• Complies with all HAC Inc. policies, procedures, rules, and standards.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding all patient information in accordance with HIPPA standards.

Supervision Received:

The Pharmacy Tech reports directly to the Pharmacy Manager.

Job Qualifications/Skills:

• Ability to adapt to changes readily and positively in schedule specifications, and work priorities as the business and customer needs demand.
• Ability to cooperate with others and work as part of a team.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• HS Diploma/GED
• Current Oklahoma Pharmacy Technician License (Preferred)
• Obtain an Oklahoma Pharmacy Technician License within 30 days of hire. (Required)
• Phase I Training must be completed within 30 days of hire.
• Phase II Training must be completed within 90 days of hire.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Constantly operates a computer program related to work required and computer printer.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
