Beth Israel Deaconess Milton is seeking a per diem Pharmacy Technician. Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy, you will fill routine unit doses and IV admixtures, restock floors, and support accurate medication distribution in a hospital setting.

The position requires a State-registered Pharmacy Technician with a high school diploma and 0-1 years of experience. Sterile compounding and hospital pharmacy experience are preferred. Per diem, rotating shifts, competitive pay.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Registered Technician with State requires licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Restocks floor stock and automated dispensing machines.
  • Enters charges/credits against patient profiles to ensure accurate billing.
  • Monitors medication order reports and assigns meds to automated dispensing machines.
  • Delivers medications in compliance with DEA, DPH & State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Repackages medications per USP <795> & <800> standards.
  • Prepares and delivers IV medications per USP <797> & <800> standards.
  • Maintains records for IV admixtures and sterile areas.

Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy/Staff Pharmacist, following established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, the Pharmacy Technician performs a variety of pharmacy related functions including filling routine orders for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals and I.V. admixtures.This is a per diem position.Job Description:Essential Core Responsibilities:Restocks floor stock/automated dispensing machines.Enters charges/credits against patient profile to ensure an accurate bill.Monitors medication order reports to assign medication to an automated dispensing machine.Delivers all medication in compliance with all DEA, DPH & State Board of Pharmacy regulations.Repackages bulk supplies of medications in unit of use packaging in accordance with all Federal USP <795> & USP<800> standards.Prepares and delivers IV medications in accordance with Federal USP <797> & USP <800> standards. Maintains records pertaining to IV admixtures, maintains cleanliness in sterile areas, and completes QA.Checks for expired medications within the pharmacy & automated dispensing cabinets.
