Job summary

Helen Newberry Joy Hospital & Healthcare Center in Newberry, Michigan, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists and deliver high-quality patient care. This is a full-time role in a community-focused hospital setting.

You will dispense medications, manage inventory, and operate pharmacy computer systems; on-the-job training and licensure support are provided to help you grow in this role within a compassionate team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided.
• We will pay for your Pharmacy Technician license/certification and training materials.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist in delivering pharmaceutical services to patients and customers.
• Dispense and distribute medications under supervision of a Pharmacist.
• Perform inventory management including ordering, receiving and stocking.
• Use pharmacy computer systems for processing prescriptions, patient profiles and billing.
• Prepare IV admixtures and other sterile/non-sterile preparations as trained and authorized.
• Maintain a clean, organized, compliant work environment and provide excellent customer service.

Duties:

• Assist the Pharmacist in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical services to patients and customers. Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Dispense and distribute medications under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist
• Perform inventory management, including ordering, receiving, stocking
• Utilize pharmacy computer systems for prescription processing, patient profiles, and billing
• Prepare intravenous (IV) admixtures and other compounded sterile/non-sterile preparations, including chemotherapy (as trained and authorized)
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment
• Provide excellent customer service and assist with other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience preferred but not required – we provide comprehensive on-the-job training
• We will pay for your Pharmacy Technician license/certification and all related training materials

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Basic computer proficiency
