Job summary

Azza HealthCare Agency is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support licensed pharmacists by accurately preparing medications, labeling bottles, and managing patient profiles. You will help maintain stock, process prescriptions, and deliver friendly customer service.

This role emphasizes accuracy, compliance with HIPAA, and teamwork in a busy pharmacy department. Experience is preferred but not required; a high school diploma and state certification are commonly accepted, with training provided.

Job description

Role: Responsible for assisting licensed pharmacists by accurately preparing and dispensing medications, providing customer service, maintaining patient profiles, and managing pharmacy inventory. Tasks include counting tablets, labeling bottles, stocking products, processing insurance claims, operating cash registers, and ensuring a clean, organized department.

Key Duties

• Stock and inventory medications, notify management of supply needs.
• Receive prescriptions and refills, prepare medication by counting, labeling, and packaging.
• Maintain customer profiles, process insurance forms, and operate cash registers.
• Ensure product knowledge, department cleanliness, and compliance with legal and HIPAA policies.
• Assist with delegated tasks and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferably one year of customer service or pharmacy-related experience.
• State registration or certification required.
• Ability to read, write, interpret documents, and perform basic math.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in varied environmental conditions.
