Job summary

A regional grocery store chain is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to work under the supervision of a pharmacist. You will assist in labeling and filling prescriptions while ensuring excellent customer service. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication and mathematical skills and be able to lift up to 25 pounds. This role involves maintaining workflow, preparing medication inventories, and assisting both outpatient and inpatient dispensing.

Job Summary

To work under the supervision of a pharmacist to deliver quality patient care and excellent customer service.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist pharmacist in labeling and filling prescriptions
• Assist patients in dropping off and picking up prescriptions
• Enter prescriptions into the computer
• Verify that customer receives correct prescription(s)
• Schedule and maintain workflow
• Prepackage bulk medications
• Screen calls for pharmacists
• Medication ordering
• Billing of third party insurers
• Prepare medication inventories
• Assisting in outpatient dispensing
• Assisting inpatient dispensing
• Purchasing and billing
• Maintaining computerized records
• Promoting sales and developing the business

Minimum Skills and Knowledge

• Must have dexterity in hands to be able to scan/key groceries
• Must have strong communication skills to ensure excellent customer service
• Strong mathematical skills required to run the registers
• Must be able to lift up to twenty five (25) pounds up to forty percent (40%) of the time
• Must be able to stand upright for the majority of your scheduled work shift
