Job description

GRX Holdings, LLC is a fast-growing, family-oriented group of independent pharmacies looking for a Full Time, up to 40 hours per week, Pharmacy Technician to work at our Easton Blvd Medicap Pharmacy in Des Moines.

We are looking for a dependable Pharmacy Technician that will process and fill prescriptions. You will assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision and in accordance with state and federal regulations, with technical functions in the pharmacy. Such functions may include measuring, counting, labeling, record keeping, and communicating with patients and other healthcare professionals. Ensures customer satisfaction by handling each customer in a prompt, professional, and friendly manner. We are looking for high-energy technicians who are motivated, able to multitask and have excellent customer service skills.

Highly competitive pay rate commensurate with experience. No nights, Sundays, or holidays, and some flexibility in scheduling. Benefits and 401k with a company match, employee discount, and other benefits available. Full-time positions are offered Medical/Dental/Vision benefits.

Pharmacy Technician experience is preferred but not required; we will train you!

This position is listed as a "Certified Pharmacy Technician," however, we encourage applications from both certified candidates and those who do not have Pharmacy Technician experience. Please note that compensation for non-certified technician candidates will be considered based on experience and training.

Responsibilities

1. Follow company policies and procedures including register performance, security issues, and confidentiality
2. Greet customers and answer questions
3. Receive prescriptions and check their validity
4. Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate
5. Resolve issues when they arise (e.g., rejected insurance claims)
6. Select the appropriate medicine and measure dosages to fill prescriptions
7. Sort, stock, label medication and monitor inventory
8. Undertake administrative tasks as assigned
9. Comply with all security measures and quality standards
10. Perform other duties as assigned

Skills

1. Proven experience as a pharmacy technician is a plus
2. Experience with an online prescription system is a plus
3. Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement is a plus
4. Excellent communication and customer service skills
5. Outstanding organizational skills
6. Reliable with a keen eye for detail

Pharmacy technicians must be nationally certified and registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy. Any person not currently registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy technician trainee must obtain registration prior to commencing employment in an Iowa pharmacy.
