Job summary

Avita Care Solutions is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescriptions and delivering patient care. The role is full-time at 750 Fort Worth Ave, Dallas, TX, with a Mon-Fri 9:00–5:30 schedule.

You will assist with insurance verification, label and package medications, and handle POS transactions while maintaining professional patient interactions and accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• 1+ year Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Must be registered with the Texas Board of Pharmacy (BOP).
• National Pharmacy Technician certification required.
• Proficient in English; Spanish preferred.
• Retail pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong MS Office skills and typing 30+ wpm.
• Experience with PioneerRx or QSI is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacists with preparing and dispensing medications.
• Label, package and process prescriptions in computer system.
• Verify/verify insurance benefits.
• Interact professionally with patients and team members.
• Handle payments at Point of Service and reconcile daily totals.
• Coordinate prescription deliveries.

Job description

The Pharmacy Technician will assist Pharmacists with preparing and dispensing prescribed medications. The Pharmacy Technician will also help Pharmacists provide patient care and education.

This is a full-time position based at 750 Forth Worth Ave. in Dallas, TX, with a Monday-Friday work schedule from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

About the Role:

• Removes drug(s) from stock; count, pour, or mix pharmaceuticals
• Places the product into a container
• Affixes the label or labels to the container
• Packages/repackages products as needed
• Types prescription label(s) or enters prescription information into a computer record system
• Verifies/re-verify insurance benefits
• Interacts courteously with patients and team members to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships
• Answers incoming and make outbound calls to patients, case managers, providers, insurance companies, etc.
• Clearly write routine reports and correspondence
• Processes payment transactions at Point of Service (POS) and reconcile beginning and end-of-day transactions
• Coordinates prescription deliveries
• Proactively identifies and analyzes problems and provide effective solutions
• Embraces and performs in the spirit of the company’s core values and goals
• Additional responsibilities as needed

About You:

• High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree or higher preferred, especially in a related health field
• One or more years of related Pharmacy Technician experience
• Must be currently registered with the Board of Pharmacy (BOP) in Texas
• State "Certified" as a Pharmacy Technician required
• National Pharmacy Technician certification through an accredited certification program is required
• Proficient in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
• Retail pharmacy experience strongly preferred
• Strong MS Office computer skills with the ability to type 30+ wpm
• Experience with pharmacy software such as PioneerRx, QSI, etc. preferred
• Must have a positive attitude, be energetic and flexible, have excellent phone etiquette, and provide exceptional customer service
