Job summary

HHM Health is seeking a full‑time Pharmacy Technician to provide coverage support at our Dallas/Mesquite pharmacy. Responsibilities include dispensing medications under supervision, managing prescriptions, and handling insurance and billing processes.

Qualifications include 1+ year of tech experience (FQHC/community health center preferred), current licensure, CPhT and BLS preferred, and strong EHR/system skills. Schedule is Mon-Fri, 8am‑5pm; bilingual candidates are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of pharmacy technician experience preferred, esp. FQHC/community health center.
  • Experience with 340B Drug Pricing Program and PAP preferred.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician registration/licensure per state; CPhT and BLS preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy operations, dispensing, terminology, inventory, and safety practices.
  • Understanding of HIPAA, regulations, infection control, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and dispense medications under pharmacist supervision, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Process prescriptions: enter, verify, and maintain patient, insurance, and prescription data.
  • Manage insurance/billing: Medicare, Medicaid, commercial claims, prior authorizations, payments.
  • Provide patient service for refills, pickups, and adherence programs; answer clinical questions.
  • Maintain medication inventory, stock rotation, and dispensing equipment.
  • Assist with 340B operations and PAP to improve affordability.
  • Maintain documentation and confidentiality; participate in quality improvement; follow safety standards.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, providers, nurses, and care coordinators to support patient care.

About the Role

We are seeking a full‑time Pharmacy Technician to provide coverage support at our Dallas/Mesquite pharmacy. Responsibilities include performing technical tasks in the pharmacy such as generating reports, maintaining inventory, assisting pharmacists, and participating in the 340B program. The pharmacist will also review patient medication records and monitor for possible drug interactions and allergies.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist while ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations.
  • Process prescription orders by entering, verifying, and maintaining accurate patient, insurance, and prescription information in the pharmacy system.
  • Manage insurance and billing activities, including Medicare, Medicaid, commercial claims, prior authorizations, and payment processing.
  • Provide exceptional patient service by assisting with prescription refills, medication pickup, medication adherence programs, and directing clinical questions to the pharmacist.
  • Support pharmacy operations by maintaining medication inventory, stocking supplies, rotating stock, removing expired medications, and operating pharmacy dispensing equipment.
  • Assist with medication access programs, including 340B pharmacy operations, Patient Assistance Programs (PAP), and other initiatives that improve medication affordability.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance by ensuring accurate documentation, protecting patient confidentiality (HIPAA), participating in quality improvement activities, and following safety and infection control standards.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team by working closely with pharmacists, providers, nurses, and care coordinators while performing administrative duties and supporting coordinated patient care.
Qualifications
  • Minimum one (1) year of pharmacy technician experience preferred, with experience in an FQHC or community health center preferred.
  • Experience with the 340B Drug Pricing Program and Patient Assistance Programs (PAP) is preferred to support medication access and affordability.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician registration/licensure required in accordance with state regulations; National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy operations, including medication dispensing, pharmaceutical terminology, inventory management, and medication safety practices.
  • Understanding of HIPAA, pharmacy regulations, infection control standards, and quality assurance to ensure regulatory compliance and patient safety.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR), pharmacy management systems, and prescription billing processes, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance.
  • Strong organizational, time management, communication, and customer service skills, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Flexibility to work in Dallas or Mesquite.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Pashto, Burmese, or Rohingya is a plus.
