Job summary

The UnitedHealth Group is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to support hospital and pharmacy operations in Colton, CA. Under supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will prepare, deliver, and restock medications, process orders, and assist with billing and data entry in our fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include dispensing medications, entering patient data into pharmacy systems, maintaining inventory, and supporting safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active CA state Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.
• Recent work experience as a Pharmacy Technician, ideally in outpatient setting.
• Excellent customer service skills including effective communication.
• Proficiency with pharmacy software.

• Process medication orders from EMR/EHR with accuracy and urgency.
• Delivers medications to patient care areas, including ADCs and nursing units.
• Maintains medication inventory by restocking and monitoring expiration dates.
• Supports medication safety initiatives, including double-checks, labeling, and documentation.
• Collaborates with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure timely and safe medication delivery.
• Complies with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

The full-time (40 hours per week) Pharmacy Technician will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.

Hours of Operation:

Pharmacy is open 24hr/ 7 days a week

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepares and dispenses medications by measuring, counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
• Processes prescription orders accurately, including entering patient and prescription data into pharmacy systems
• Assists pharmacists and healthcare providers by gathering necessary information and supporting workflow efficiency
• Process medication orders from electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) with accuracy and urgency
• Delivers medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) and nursing units
• Maintains medication inventory by restocking, tracking controlled substances, and monitoring expiration dates
• Supports medication safety initiatives, including double-checks, labeling, and documentation
• Collaborates with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure timely and safe medication delivery
• Complies with hospital policies and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission and state/federal regulations

Required Qualifications:
