Job summary

Shields Health Solutions seeks a Pharmacy Technician to provide integrated patient and pharmacist support during a standard 8:00AM–5:00PM schedule. The role emphasizes accurate prescription processing, data entry, and patient communication in a fast-paced care setting.

The ideal candidate is licensed in the relevant state, with 1+ year of experience (3+ preferred), and strong computer and interpersonal skills to navigate insurance issues and medication adherence support.

Qualifications

  • Must be a licensed Pharmacy Technician in the state of employment.
  • 1+ years of experience; 3+ years preferred in pharmacy tech roles.
  • Solid computer skills including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and enter prescriptions.
  • Clarify prescription orders with pharmacist or clinician.
  • Label and fill prescriptions for pharmacist verification.
  • Perform pharmaceutical calculations and prepare medications for delivery.
  • Assist patients with insurance forms and financial assistance.

Pharmacy Technician Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM schedule!

The successful candidate will provide integrated support to patients and pharmacists by providing a 'hands-on\" approach to total quality patient care through the delivery of a full continuum of medication adherence support. Candidatesmust be a licensed Pharmacy Technician with the State of employment.

Job Duties:
  • Interpret and enter prescriptions.
  • Clarify prescription orders with pharmacist and/or clinician asappropriate.
  • Label and fill prescriptions for the pharmacist to verify.
  • Perform pharmaceutical calculations.
  • Identifiesmedications requiring special storage and/or handling such as hazardous medications and/or refrigeratedmedication.
  • Identifyand assembling supplies necessary for select medications such sharps containers, needles/syringes, alcohol swabs, Band-Aids.
  • Prepares medication for delivery to patients and departments.
  • Answers,resolves,and triages inbound inquiries.
  • Provides outbound therapy/medication adherence check-ups.
  • Securesrefill prescriptions.
  • Resolves insurance related issues andassistspatients with various forms of financialassistance.
  • Maintainspharmacy inventory including drug ordering and receiving.
  • Communicate directly with patients over the phone toassistthem in the awareness of their medications.
  • Achieve operationalobjectivesby inputting data, performing adjudication on testclaimsand preparing action plans for follow-up.
  • Manage, organize, and update relevant data using database applications.
  • Apply observations and recommendations to operational issues, increased productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
  • Activelyparticipatesin process improvement initiatives.
  • Protectsorganization'svalue by keeping information confidential.

Experience/Education:
Required Licensure/Certification:

Weare seeking experienced pharmacy technicians who are registered with the State of employment. Should certification need to be obtained for a particular state or updated at the time of employment, the applicant will commit to obtaining the required certification within a mutually agreed upontimeframe. Continued employment is contingent upon meeting these requirements.

Years of Experience:

Required1+ years, Preferred 3+ years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician

Education:

High school diploma or GEDrequired

Solid computer skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) for communication, documentation, and data management, as well as, navigating the internet and web-based platforms. Data entry and computer skills will be evaluated through an assessment as part of the pre-employment process.
