Job summary

Professional Performance Development Group (PPDG) is seeking a dedicated pharmacy technician to fulfill a variety of duties within DoD medical sites. The role includes pharmaceutical dispensing, quality improvement tasks, and ensuring proper medication management.

Candidates should possess a certificate from an accredited pharmacy program and be certified by the PTCB, along with a year of experience. The successful applicant will enjoy full-time hours and benefits while serving our Nation's Heroes.

Qualifications

• Certificate/ Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by ASHP.
• Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
• One year of experience as a pharmacy technician after graduation.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of pharmacy technician procedures.
• Fill new outpatient prescriptions and refill prescriptions.
• Consult on patient requests and monitor for drug interactions.
• Perform inspections, review expired supplies, and document workload.
• Maintain inventory and stocking of supplies.

Job description

PPDG is a government contractor providing our employees full-time hours and benefits to work within DoD medical sites in service to our Nation's Heroes and their dependents. PPDG has been serving heroes' since 1984.

Job Description

TYPE OF WORK The duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Perform a full range of pharmacy technician procedures.
• Perform pharmaceutical dispensing duties including filling new outpatient prescriptions, refilling prescriptions, and entering orders into databases.
• Perform information consultation duties including supporting new and refill prescriptions supporting patient requests, supporting physician’s requests, monitoring for drug interactions, and reporting adverse drug reactions.
• Perform quality improvement duties including performing drug storage inspection, reviewing expired supplies, and producing error and workload reports and documentation.
• Perform supply process duties including placing new orders stocking/restocking shelves, inventory maintenance, producing not in stock reports.
• The HCW shall possess a working knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, common drugs, medication dosage forms, storage and security requirements for drugs, and the operation of common pharmacy equipment.
• The HCW shall possess extensive knowledge of pharmaceuticals to include therapeutics, dosage, nomenclature, side effects, interactions and incompatibilities. Must be intimately familiar with all aspects of the Outpatient and Inpatient Drug Distribution System.
• The HCW shall receive and interpret outpatient prescriptions or inpatient medication orders. Assist pharmacist in selecting and preparing medications

• Certificate/ Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a formal pharmacy services training program of the United States Military.
• Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
• One year of experience as a pharmacy technician after graduation.
