Job summary

Global Consulting International (GCI) seeks a Pharmacy Technician to provide PRN coverage at Hill AFB outpatient pharmacy. Coverage is required when colleagues are on vacation, ill, or absent, with daytime hours Monday–Friday and roughly 8 hours per week.

Candidates must have an ASHP-accredited program or US Military training, PTCB certification and BLS, and be able to obtain a public trust clearance. One year of recent experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of pharmacy technician procedures.
• Dispense outpatient prescriptions, fill and enter orders.
• Support information requests, monitor drug interactions, report adverse reactions.
• Conduct drug storage inspections, review expired supplies, produce reports.
• Place orders, stock shelves, maintain inventory, generate not-in-stock reports.

Job Type: PRN

We are looking for someone who can provide coverage in the Hill AFB outpatient pharmacy on an as-needed basis when other employees are on vacation, ill, or otherwise absent from work.

Work Hours: The pharmacy hours are Monday - Friday daytime. Your hours would vary based on the coverage needed in the pharmacy and your availability. Ideally, you would work about 8 hours a week, but never more than 40 hours a week.

Hourly wage: $22.30 - $26

QUALIFICATIONS

Clearance:

• Candidates must have ability to obtain a public trust security clearance.

Education: Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a formal pharmacy technician program (i.e., technical, hospital, or retail-based program) or a formal medical services training program of the United States Military. Must be able to show proof of training.

Certification: Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). BLS is also required.

Experience:One year of experience as a pharmacy technician in the last 2 years.

TYPE OF WORK

The duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Perform a full range of pharmacy technician procedures.
• Perform pharmaceutical dispensing duties including filling new outpatient prescriptions, refilling prescriptions, and entering orders into databases.
• Perform information consultation duties including supporting new and refill prescriptions, supporting patient requests, supporting physician's requests, monitoring for drug interactions, and reporting adverse drug reactions.
• Perform quality improvement duties including performing drug storage inspection, reviewing expired supplies, and producing error and workload reports and documentation.
• Perform supply process duties including placing new orders, stocking/restocking shelves, inventory maintenance, producing not in stock reports.
