Job Summary

Responsible for providing order processing support for fulfillment and assisting in the preparation and distribution of prescription medication using the fulfillment system. Follows standard operating procedures and performs duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• Use Walgreens prescription data entry procedures and guidelines to process new patient registration, handle patient prescription requests within HIPAA guidelines, enter refill orders for processing, troubleshoot missing prescription information, interpret medical abbreviations (SIG codes), and resolve all data entry related exceptions.
• Run automated machinery, sort medications, and transition inventory through different workflow stages with a focus on quality control.
• Count, fill, and label prescriptions; pack and ship; clean and help maintain machinery and maintain an orderly work area.
• Resolve Third Party Rejects by reviewing, gathering information, making corrections, and resubmitting for processing according to individual plan requirements.
• Provide assistance to pharmacists in the facility and at other locations; identify and communicate issues to senior level staff as appropriate.
• Obtain an active technician license or certification within the first 90 days and maintain it thereafter.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Basic PC skills (e.g., starting and shutting down a computer, using a mouse, launching programs, saving files, printing documents, and accessing information online).
• Basic search engine skills including opening a browser, typing URLs, using a search engine, bookmarking sites, navigating forward/backward/stop, and filling out online forms.
• Intermediate keyboarding skills (at least 25 WPM, touch typing, formatting documents).
• Willing and able to perform tasks that include pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Willing and able to carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Willing and able to work a flexible shift.
• 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications

• PTCB or ExCPT certification.
• At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail, fulfillment, or call center environment.
• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality and productivity standards.
• Intermediate to advanced keyboarding skills (at least 35 WPM, touch typing, formatting documents).

Salary Range: $17.5 - $23.35 / Hourly.
