Job summary

Dameron Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support the hospital-wide unit-dose drug distribution system and the intravenous admixture program.

Under supervision, you will maintain confidential reports, enter and retrieve data in the computer system, prepare medications, stock the automated dispensing system with unit-dose meds, procure supplies, and deliver them to nursing units.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Six to twelve months of pharmacy experience preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hospital-wide unit-dose drug distribution system and IV admixture program.
• Maintain confidential reports and data entry in the computer system.
• Prepare medications and fill automated dispensing system with unit-dose meds.

Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Pharmacy/ Pharmacist, he/she performs a variety of technical and clerical duties for the hospital-wide unit dose drug distribution system and intravenous admixture program. Responsible to maintain confidential reports, enter and retrieve data utilizing the computer system, prepare medications, fills automated medication dispensing system with a supply of unit dose medications, procure, and fill requests for pharmaceutical supplies and deliver supplies to nursing units.
