Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and to perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Fill unit dose carts and prepare IV admixtures.
  • Screen telephone calls for pharmacists and screen orders from nursing units.
  • Direct drug orders to pharmacists and fill orders for IV sets, solutions, toiletries, and food supplies.
  • Deliver pharmaceuticals to nursing units.
  • Replenish and charge ward stock items.
  • Restock dispensing areas and assist pharmacist with compounding; repackage bulk supplies.
  • Maintain and clean equipment used in Pharmacy and perform light housekeeping.

  • Interested candidates must have a high school diploma, or a high school equivalency diploma issued by an appropriate educational authority
  • You must also have six months of experience assisting with the filling of medical prescriptions under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist
  • The required six months of experience may be substituted by possession of a Pharmacy Technician Certification accredited by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or a certificate of diploma from a pharmacy technician training program accredited by the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists
  • Must possess working knowledge of acceptable methods and practices used in receiving, storing, and issuing pharmaceutical supplies
  • Must be able to understand and carry out both oral and written instructions and be able to bend, lift, climb, stoop, and kneel
  • Must successfully pass pre- employment health clearance
