Our mission is guided by our Strategic Principles and has three critical components; patient care, education and research that together enhance our contribution to society.## Job Summary**General Pharmacy Technician duties may include:*** Prepare and package non-sterile compounded pharmaceuticals* Prepare sterile products, injections and IV chemotherapy* Fill automated dispensing cabinets on nursing units* Correctly distribute and account for controlled substances usage* Deliver medications to nursing units including surgical rooms* Stock medications shelves, manage inventory dating, return excess stock to inventory, properly dispose expired medications or return to manufacturer* Prepare and deliver investigational drugs per research protocols* Respond and triage telephone and electronic message inquiries* Assist the Pharmacist with auditing controlled substance utilization* Complete restocking and dispensing activities using pharmacy automation* Receive orders and prepare and package medications for outside clinics* Build various medication kits, providing support to many different professions* Conduct admission medication histories* Assist the pharmacist in resuscitation bays* Performing pharmacy cleaning and documentation* Assist with training of staff* Other duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor to assist with preparation and delivery of patient medications* Work in a highly collaborative environment including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Managers, Technician Supervisors, and other medical professionals## Required Qualifications\\*Ability to perform a wide range of physical activity: lifting, pulling, bending, manual dexterity movements. The new regulations allow for a one-time temporary license for up to 1 year, during which time a Technician must successfully complete requirements to become certified and meet all other State of Michigan requirements for a Full Pharmacy Technician License.
