Job summary

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, customer-focused Pharmacy Technician to join our retail pharmacy team. The Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists in providing safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy services while delivering exceptional customer care. This role involves prescription processing, inventory management, insurance claim support, and assisting customers with their pharmacy needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Process prescription orders accurately and efficiently
• Enter prescription information into the pharmacy management system
• Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, labeling, and dispensing activities in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Provide outstanding customer service by answering questions and directing customers appropriately
• Handle insurance billing, prior authorization requests, and claim rejections
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA requirements
• Manage inventory, including receiving, stocking, and monitoring medication expiration dates
• Operate cash registers and process customer transactions
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy workspace
• Support vaccination clinics, health screenings, and other pharmacy services as assigned
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Active Pharmacy Technician registration/licensure from Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment
• Basic computer proficiency
• National certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or equivalent

Preferred

• Previous retail pharmacy experience (highly preferred)
• Experience with Liberty Software system

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 25 poundsFrequent reaching, bending, and walking

Compensation

Pay Range: $16.00 – $25.00 per hour, based on experience and certification(s)
