Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking a day-shift, full-time Pharmacy Technologist Specialist in Westwood, NJ. The role focuses on managing technician specialty practice areas, supporting the pharmacist, and ensuring accurate medication preparation and inventory control.

The position requires 3+ years of hospital pharmacy tech experience, active CPhT, and BLS within 14 days of hire. Associates/bachelors preferred, with opportunities for growth and a supportive, patient-centered work environment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED.
• 3+ years of hospital pharmacy technician experience.
• 1 year of experience with an identified specialty system/process.
• Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day operations of technician specialty practice areas (billing, diversion, automation, medication history, and others).
• Provide user support, perform maintenance activities and troubleshooting, monitor proper functionality, and ensure policies and procedures are followed.
• Coordinates upgrade testing activities, education, and serves as the subject matter expert for the technician specialty practice area.
• Under supervision of a pharmacist, assist in technical, non-clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing, mixing IVs, managing inventory, and assisting in pharmacy operations.
