Job summary

Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX seeks a Pharmacy Technician to join a 414-bed acute care facility. Under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will assist dispensing, compounding (nonsterile and sterile), unit dosing, and maintaining pharmacy records.

Responsibilities include inventory control, monitoring medication dating, and supporting compliance audits. Texas Board of Pharmacy registration is required, with preference for prior hospital or retail pharmacy experience.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Texas Board of Pharmacy registration for Pharmacy Tech required.
Knowledge of basic medical and pharmaceutical terminology; basic pharmacy calculations and computer literacy.

Responsibilities

Dispense medications and assist in sterile and nonsterile compounding.
Prepare unit doses and maintain accurate pharmacy records.
Perform inventory control and monitor medication expiry dates.
Assist with compliance audits and unit inspections.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Works under direct supervision of the licensed pharmacist and/or Lead Pharmacy Technician are responsible for providing pharmacy services including but not limited to dispensing, nonsterile and sterile compounding, unit dosing, performing inventory control, out dating medications, unit inspections, compliance audits, and maintaining pharmacy records. Major responsibilities of the pharmacy tech may vary.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Prefer previous experience in retail or hospital pharmacy.

Texas Board of Pharmacy registration for Pharmacy Tech required.

Knowledge of basic medical and pharmaceutical terminology, basic pharmacy calculations/equivalents, and basic knowledge of computers required.
