Job Summary

Assists a licensed pharmacist with the preparation and distribution of medications in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Supports inventory management, contributes to efficient pharmacy operations, maintains professional competency, and upholds ethical standards and patient confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current registration with the Mississippi State Board of Pharmacy.

Preferred Qualifications

• College coursework preferred but not required.
• Prior pharmacy or healthcare experience.
• Procure and distribute medication orders per physician or pharmacist request.
• Maintain adequate medication and supply inventory per policy.
• Contribute to effective daily pharmacy operations.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement activities.
• Maintain required competency for current position.
• Adapt to frequent interruptions and changing workload demands.
• Uphold accountability, performance, and organizational standards.
• Perform at least three principal functional areas including: Front Counter, Omnicell, IV Admixture, Nursing Home/Hospice Pharmacy, Charges/Billing, Employee Pharmacy, or Nightshift.
