Job summary

Vandalia Health in Charleston, WV is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Supervisor to coordinate technical drug distribution and technician staffing within the pharmacy department. This role also covers training and competency development of technicians and students.

Qualifications

Job description

Job Summary

Coordination of the technical drug distribution functions and activities of the pharmacy department. Coordination of technicians scheduling and assignments for the pharmacy department. Coordination of training and competencies for technicians and technician students.


Responsibilities


  • Coordinates and supervises daily activities of technicians (schedules, assignments, monitoring).

  • Supports inventory management controls.

  • Responsible for assisting with the department's outdated drug process. Staffing as a technician (working supervisor) and project assignments.

  • Active participation in development and assessment of performance planners.

  • Implementation of new programs and services.

  • Training, teaching and recertification of key technical processes.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

Education


  • Formalized Training (Required) Experience: 3 Years documented pharmacy operations or Related Field experience; with 1 year (within past 24 months) inpatient hospital
