Job summary

University Health System- San Antonio is seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician for in-patient and out-patient pharmacy operations. The role supports pharmacists with unit dose packaging, IV admixtures, Pyxis stocking, and medication workflow across hospital and ambulatory settings.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, a Texas Pharmacy registration, and preferably two years of licensed technician experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school/GED or equivalent experience required.
• Two years of experience as a registered pharmacy technician (CPhT) preferred.
• Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration required.

Responsibilities

• Set up unit of use medications, prepare IV/piggyback admixtures, pre-packs, fill unit dose cassettes, refill and load medications into Pyxis, and fill routine and emergency floor/unit stock orders.
• Receive medication requests from patients or units/clinics, receive telephone inquiries and requests of a non-professional nature, i.e., refill call-ins, patient/staff inquiries, supply, accounting, etc.
• Perform operations in the Inpatient and Outpatient computer systems, including prescription or order entry, crediting and charging, label generation, etc.
