Job summary

Care New England Health System's Butler Hospital seeks a Pharmacy Technician to assist the pharmacist with medication preparation and distribution. Duties include repackaging into unit-dose packs and documenting patient medication histories at admission, under supervision in the hospital pharmacy.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, Rhode Island Pharmacist Technician 2 license, and training program completion or graduation, with strong math, typing, and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate.
• Preferably a graduate of Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
• Must Have Rhode Island Pharmacist Technician 2 License; include math, typing and computer skills.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Pharmacy Technician will assist the pharmacist in all aspects of the medication preparation and distribution processes. Duties include preparation of medications for distribution to automatic dispensing cabinets, repackaging into unit-dose blister packs, and various medication inventory functions. Technicians will also participate in the documentation of medication histories of patient at the point of admission. Assists Pharmacist in performing routine duties in hospital pharmacy.

Duties & Responsibilities

Service Standards: Consistently adheres to Butler Hospital service standards.

Assists Pharmacist in performing routine duties in hospital pharmacy.

Observes all general hospital policies, guiding principles, and rules and regulations.

Requirements

Education: High school graduate

Training and Experience: Preferably a graduate of Pharmacy Technician Training Program

Special Qualifications: Must Have Rhode Island Pharmacist Technician 2 License.
Skills in Math, typing, and computers are necessary.

Schedule: 8/16 Every Other Weekend
