- POSITION SUMMARY
- The pharmacy technician performs a variety of duties related to the preparing and dispensing of medications according to standard procedure under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to provide quality patient care. Maintain inventory by verifying receipt, restocking and removing outdated medications. Provide excellent customer service to physicians, nurses and other hospital staff members. Displays commitment to the pharmacy department by working collaboratively with team members.
- POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience in hospital pharmacy at EAMC or 2 years of experience in a hospital inpatient setting or at least 4 years of retail pharmacy experience. (Full time equivalents)
- Required Registration/License/Certification
- Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate (CPhT) or graduate from an accredited pharmacy technician training program with CPhT status or ALBOP Intern License.
- Must maintain certification.
- Alabama State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration
- Preferred Education
- N/A
- Preferred Experience
- Two years of hospital inpatient experience
- Preferred Registration/License/Certification
- Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT)
