Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia, UVA Community Health, is seeking a Pharmacy Tech II to support filling prescriptions for patients being discharged at the PWMC campus. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm.

Responsibilities include preparing and delivering medications under pharmacist supervision, training new staff, and ensuring policy adherence in a fast-paced environment within UVA Health Northern VA Culpeper operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 18 months minimum relevant experience, 1 year of sterile compounding experience, or 1 year of employment required.
• Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration is required; PTCB or ExCPT certification preferred; renewal and state registration evidence required.

Responsibilities

• Fill, prepare, and deliver medications under supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Participate in training of new employees and ensure quality and safety in medication handling.
• Triages and elevates questions outside scope of practice to staff pharmacist or supervisor as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of medication names and doses and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication with healthcare professionals.
