Job summary

Mayo Clinic is hiring Pharmacy Technician levels 1–5 to assist the pharmacist in delivering optimal patient care. You will gather, label and distribute medications accurately, and safely compound medications including hazardous substances. You will handle controlled substances in line with regulatory requirements and help maintain inventory and billing.

Cross-training may place you at St. Marys, Methodist, or other Rochester campuses; overnight shifts may be available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• English reading/writing/speaking proficiency.
• Able to learn technical tasks and follow written/verbal directions.
• Experience with office software and keyboarding.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• No history of drug abuse.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in providing patient care and distribute medications.
• Package, prepare and safely compound medications including hazardous substances.
• Handle and distribute controlled substances per regulations.
• Maintain accurate medication inventories and billing.
• Communicate using established systems and processes.
• Consider age and ability in duties.
