Join to apply for the Pharmacy Tech I-AM/PM Rotating role at Advocate Health.

Purpose: Performs clerical, distributive, technical, and data gathering duties to provide medications to patients and support pharmacists and technicians.

Accountabilities:

  1. Dispenses and delivers medications accurately and timely.
  2. Demonstrates competence in department automated dispensing and storage devices.
  3. Troubleshoots dispensing issues.
  4. Prepares non-sterile and sterile products accurately and consistently with USP standards.
  5. Enters medication orders in the computer system and navigates within the electronic medical record to facilitate patient care.
  6. Uses automation and technology to maintain equipment in effective and safe working condition.
  7. Addresses customer and team member concerns accurately and timely.
  8. Triages phone calls from customers, nurses, physicians, or patients, understanding issues and providing resolutions or appropriate hand-offs.
  9. Assists in training and shares knowledge with pharmacy team members, residents, and students.
  10. Supports departmental initiatives, including performance improvement activities and committees.
  11. Complies with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards, including controlled substance procedures, USP standards, and DNV requirements.
