PHARMACY TECHNICIAN I Pay Rate: $20.46/hour Location: Redlands, CA Work Arrangement: Onsite / Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 12:00 PM–9:00 PM; Friday, 10:30 AM–7:30 PM Interview: In-person interview required

JOB SUMMARY

The Pharmacy Technician I supports pharmacy operations by selecting, picking, packaging, and preparing medications and supplies under the supervision of a Pharmacist. This role also assists with inventory control, record keeping, administrative support, and cross‑trained operational functions. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, comfortable working in a high‑volume environment, and able to provide excellent customer service to members and healthcare providers by phone and in writing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Select, pick, and package medications and pharmacy supplies under pharmacist supervision.
  • Perform required record‑keeping and documentation activities.
  • Assist with inventory control and related pharmacy operations.
  • Support cross‑trained responsibilities as an Operations Assistant or Materials Coordinator.
  • Handle high‑volume inbound calls from members and providers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Provide accurate and effective telephone assistance and customer service.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of prior authorization decisions.
  • Operate computer systems, pharmacy equipment, and other assigned machinery.
  • Maintain accuracy, productivity, and quality standards in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Follow applicable pharmacy procedures, safety requirements, and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Verifiable High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Current California Pharmacy Technician License required.
  • National pharmacy technician certification alone is not accepted in place of the California license.
  • Must meet applicable state requirements for registration, certification, or licensure.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in an administrative support role.
  • Advanced computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work accurately in a high‑volume environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
PHYSICAL & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

This is a safety‑sensitive position with significant physical requirements. Candidates must be able to:

  • Stand for the entire shift.
  • Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Reach and grasp objects at various heights and levels.
  • Operate machinery and pharmacy equipment safely.
  • Use a keyboard and computer equipment regularly.
  • Work in an environment with moving machinery and moderate noise.
  • Wear required protective clothing or equipment when applicable.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

The position is performed primarily onsite in a pharmacy/operations environment. Employees may work around moving machinery and moderate levels of operational noise. Safety procedures and protective equipment requirements must be followed at all times.
