• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certified or must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Six months of previous hospital experience preferred.

General Summary: The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting central pharmacists and technicians in the delivery of medications and pharmaceutical products under direct supervision of a Pharmacist. Documents and updates documentation on various pharmaceutical products that are loaded in the automated dispensing machines. Communicates with pharmacy staff and nurses about medication when necessary and appropriate.

Minimum Education

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

Required Licensure, Certification, On-going Training

Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy for Maryland as a Pharmacy Technician. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certified, or obtain PTCB certification within 1 year of hire. Licensure required. PTCB for pharmacy students can be waived for those who have an active Pharmacist Intern License. Six months of previous hospital experience preferred.

Shift

• Rotating shift
• Dayshift-07:00 am-3:30 pm
• Evening -3:00 pm-11:30 pm
• Nightshift -Occasional -9:00 pm-7:30 am (10-hour)
• Weekend & holiday work is also required
  

Salary Range: Minimum 21.00/hour - Maximum 34.64/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
