Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist the Registered Pharmacist in dispensing medications in outpatient settings. You will fill, label, stock, and package medications and support inventory control while maintaining accuracy and customer service.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, entering orders in the computer system, handling POS transactions, and coordinating with healthcare teams to resolve prescription issues and prior authorizations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of a recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program or PTCB Certification (CPHT) is required.
• Current license as a registered pharmacy technician in NYS is required when hired on/after 4/25/21.
• Minimum of two (2) years related experience as a Pharmacy Technician including retail pharmacy with a computerized system within the last three (3) years is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists Pharmacist in non-professional aspects of preparing and dispensing medication: fills, packages, labels, stocks medications and fills orders.
• Maintains records and reports for medication orders and computer entry of orders.
• Maintains inventory at workstations and handles stock and distribution of supplies.
• Operates point-of-sale cash register system and ensures positive customer experience.
