Job summary

Riverview Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support prescription data entry, insurance adjudication, and stocking of medications. The role involves daily ordering, assisting pharmacists with compounding, and ensuring accurate inventory control within Indiana.

We require a Indiana Pharmacy Technician license, National Accredited Certification, and at least two years of experience. The position includes adherence to USP 797 standards and routine workflow coordination with the pharmacy

Qualifications

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent with Indiana Pharmacy Technician license and National Accredited Certification.
  • Two years of Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
  • Licenses must be current and valid in Indiana.

Responsibilities

  • Data entry of prescriptions and insurance adjudication.
  • Fill medication orders for pharmacist review.
  • Place daily order with drug wholesaler and stock medications and supplies.
  • Maintain logs for cleaning and refrigerator temperatures per USP 797.
  • Verify received drug shipments against invoices and stock shelves.
  • Return unused medication to stock or dispose of per policy.
  • Prepare compounded products, checked by pharmacist.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MEDICATION HISTORY RECONCILIATION

Gathers & documents a patient's medication history to help ensure patient safety & accurate medication administration

  • Collect medication history by interviewing the patient, family or caregiver, reviewing charts, & calling pharmacies & physician offices
  • Identify errors in patient history & communicate with appropriate staff
  • Update database
  • Collect medication history for upcoming patients that are having surgery via phone calls
Education Requirements
  • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent with Indiana Pharmacy Technician license and National Accredited Certification.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum: Two (2) years of Pharmacy Technician experience
License/Certification Requirements
  • Minimum: Indiana Pharmacy Technician license and National Accredited Certification
Preferred
  • High School or better in Other
Licenses & Certifications

  • Pharmacy Tech State Lic
Preferred
  • Pharm Tech National Cert
