Job summary

GI Alliance is seeking a Pharmacy Technician - Data & Reporting Specialist in Lansdowne, VA. This role blends traditional technician duties with advanced data analysis and reporting to support leadership in monitoring performance, trends, and workflows.

The ideal candidate will manage data from multiple systems, develop reports and dashboards (Excel/Power BI/Tableau), and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering excellent patient service.

Qualifications

  • Current Pharmacy Technician certification and registration as required by state regulations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, Data validation, Charts and reporting functions.
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting operational data.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and dispensing medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Process prescription orders and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Manage medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and reconciliation.
  • Support medication prior authorization and prescription refill workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, pharmacy regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Address patient and provider inquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Collect, validate, and maintain pharmacy operational data from multiple systems.
  • Develop and distribute routine and ad hoc reports related to pharmacy performance.
  • Monitor KPIs including prescription volume, prior authorization turnaround times, adherence metrics, revenue trends, inventory usage, and patient satisfaction.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, opportunities, and workflow improvements.
  • Create dashboards and reports using Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Present findings and recommendations to pharmacy leadership.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through auditing and quality control processes.
  • Support regulatory, compliance, and accreditation reporting requirements.
  • Maintain reports, databases, and documentation.
  • Assist with operational projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with clinical, billing, and administrative teams to improve service delivery.
  • Participate in meetings and provide operational insights based on data analysis.

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Technician - Data & Reporting Specialist supports pharmacy operations through accurate data management, reporting, inventory oversight, and patient service support. This role combines traditional pharmacy technician responsibilities with advanced analytical and reporting functions to assist leadership in monitoring performance, identifying trends, improving workflows, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in data collection, analysis, and report development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Pharmacy Operations
  • Assist in preparing and dispensing medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Process prescription orders and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Manage medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and reconciliation.
  • Support medication prior authorization and prescription refill workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, pharmacy regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Address patient and provider inquiries professionally and efficiently.
