Job summary

Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS is seeking a Pharmacy Tech 3 to support the SV Retail Pharmacy. Under a pharmacist's supervision, you will assist in preparing medications for dispensing and help manage daily pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities include accurate use of dispensing and barcoding systems, reviewing prescription data, assisting with insurance issues and prior authorizations, and delivering excellent service to patients and providers.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of pharmacy technician experience in hospital or ambulatory setting preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.

Responsibilities

  • Properly use dispensing and barcoding technology to ensure accurate medication selection, stocking, and order fulfillment for all patient orders.
  • Ensures accuracy of prescription and patient data entered into various systems; verifying patient, drug, quantities, directions, days' supply, supplies, insurance, and other data.
  • Reviews all relevant clinical information and clarifies with pharmacist/prescriber as appropriate.
  • Works with payers to resolve insurance related issues, assists with financial assistance programs as needed.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to healthcare providers and patients, by greeting them in person and by phone, answering non-judgmental questions and requests, manage Epic messages, initiate and complete prior authorizations, and referring inquiries requiring judgment to a pharmacist.
