Job summary

Dominican Hospital, part of Dignity Health, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support safe, accurate medication delivery under a Pharmacist's guidance. You will verify orders, prepare meds, and help ensure patient safety by correct dosing and labeling.

You will handle IV preparations, medication cassettes, and reports from pharmacy computer systems, deliver meds to care areas, and follow safety and infection-control protocols in a busy hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret physician orders and enter into the system.
• Fill patient medication cassettes and orders with accuracy.
• Prepare injectable medications such as large volume IVs, syringes, IVPBs, hyperalimentation solutions and chemotherapy doses.
• Use pharmacy computer systems to generate reports, fill lists, labels and other related tasks.
• Deliver medications to the patient care areas.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Pharmacy Tech, you'll help our patients feel better by providing safe and effective medications to them. You'll help our doctors and nurses feel better knowing that you are providing accurate and timely medication to patients.

Every day, you'll build trust by being extremely thorough and accurate at all times. Patient safety is your top priority, so you do everything you can to ensure all prescriptions are authentic, prepared correctly both in medication type and dosing, and are dispensed appropriately, under the Pharmacist's guidance.

To be successful in this role, you follow all safety protocols, including those intended to prevent infection, and you keep a clean work area at all times. You are eager to learn or help out in any way needed to keep the pharmacy running smoothly and get our patients their medications.

Required

• Completion of a recognized technician training program or two years working experience as a health systems pharmacy technician

Preferred

• College course work concentrated in science
• Previous certification in chemotherapy and hyperalimentation preparation
• Knowledge of Windows based computer systems

$39.73 - $44.79 /hour
