CommonSpirit Health's Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, California is seeking a Pharmacy Tech to help ensure safe and accurate medication distribution. You will verify orders, fill medication cassettes, prepare IVs and chemo doses under the supervision of a Pharmacist, and deliver medications to patient care areas.

In this role, you follow safety protocols, participate in infection control, and maintain a clean work area.

Qualificações

• Completion of a recognized technician training program or two years working experience as a health systems pharmacy technician
• CA Pharmacy Technician license/registration

Responsabilidades

• Reads and interprets physician orders and enters them into a computerized profile system.
• Fills patient medication cassettes and new medication orders with high accuracy.
• Prepares injectable medications such as IVs, syringes, IVPBs, and chemotherapy doses.
• Uses pharmacy computer systems to produce reports, fill lists, labels and related tasks.
• Delivers medications to patient care areas.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Pharmacy Tech, you'll help our patients feel better by providing safe and effective medications to them. You'll help our doctors and nurses feel better knowing that you are providing accurate and timely medication to patients.

Every day, you'll build trust by being extremely thorough and accurate at all times. Patient safety is your top priority, so you do everything you can to ensure all prescriptions are authentic, prepared correctly both in medication type and dosing, and are dispensed appropriately, under the Pharmacist's guidance.

To be successful in this role, you follow all safety protocols, including those intended to prevent infection, and you keep a clean work area at all times. You are eager to learn or help out in any way needed to keep the pharmacy running smoothly and get our patients their medications.

• Prepares injectable medications such as large volume IVS, syringes, IVPBs, hyperalimentation solutions and chemotherapy doses.
• Uses pharmacy computer systems to produce a variety of reports, fill lists, labels and other related jobs
• Delivers medications to the patient care areas.

Job Requirements

• Completion of a recognized technician training program or two years working experience as a health systems pharmacy technician
• Pharmacy Technician: CA

Preferred

• College course work concentrated in science
• Previous certification in chemotherapy and hyperalimentation preparation
• Knowledge of Windows based computer systems

$39.73 - $44.79 /hour
